THIS IS A NO BULLSHIT ZONE , THERES TOO MUCH OF THAT IN RACING !!!!!!!!

Q :Ive bought a new 125/250 Honda, that is set up for unleaded. I want to run it on avgas / racegas, how difficult is that, and is it worth it ?
A :From 97 on Honda stopped making leaded set ups comletely. I would say, if you can run leaded, run it, unless your at a very high level of competiton, and have access to trick bits, and loads of money, where you can see imrovements, because of the parts and electronic developments.
For pre powerjet bikes, simply fit VHM heads (the price makes machining std heads impractical, and conversion back to unleaded easier), with the correct compressions for the fuel, leaded, 96 b spec needles, and advance the ignition statically, on the back plate.
For powerjet bikes, there are no leaded needles available, so 4th/3d clip, smaller powerjet and dont be surprised if your using really small main jets. (NB on small jets DONT drop the needles without going back up on the main first) We have tried the 96 needles, but they were really hard to set up.

Q :Ive been to loads of other tuners, and they are all rubbish , will you tune my engine now ? Its their fault Im not a world champion now .

A :The vast majoity of engine tuners I know, are not rubbish at all they are hard working, clever people and although in business, and competing on track, in our own race for success, I get on with and talk to other tuners regularly. The speed and reliability of your bike is as much down to you, your setting, and riding.

Ive ridden bikes some "superstars" say are slow, and with a bit of carburation, suspension have ended up blowing them off ............at my age !!!!!!!

I suggest you read the maunal and get a life.

Tuners who I have worked with and repect: Richard "Trick" Slinn, Frank Wrathaal, Trevor Smedley and Ive not heard a bad word for Kevin Murray in the USA.

Q :Ive heard the VHM heads crack ........is that true

A :Earlier inserts did develop hairline cracks on the small rad on the squish to hemisphere, but only after high mileage and on cylinders that did not have a good surface from either a bad plating job or machining.

VHM have now changed the material they use for inserts and have had no more problems. I do suggest you change the inserts mid season as a precaution as the price of them makes this a cheap option. The profiles we are supplying now can't be made from std without welding and messing around so they are definitely the way forward ......see review section for full specs
